Blackstone Street Cambridge, MA

In an emerging residential market a block from the Charles River, this 14 unit project included new construction along with the renovation of an existing triple-decker. The triple-decker was sliced down the middle, creating multilevel units on either side with rooftop penthouses and private gardens to the rear.  An adjoining commercial building was replaced with a four story wood frame building, also with penthouses set back to allow private outdoor space. The building design and siting reflect the influence of nearby 19th mercantile buildings.
